Both hearings will be held October 20. Pacific Gas & Electric filed the proposal for a closure in August. As of now, the operating license for Unit 1 expires on November 2, 2024, while the license for Unit 2 expires on August 26, 2025. PG&E announced they would like to replace Diablo Canyon’s combined 2,200-MW generating capacity with emission-free resources.
