EDF Renewables taps MHI Vestas Turbines for New Jersey Offshore Wind Project

Project co-developer EDF Renewables North America selected MHI Vestas Offshore Wind as the preferred supplier for the 25-MW project. The project plans to feature three V164 8.3-MW turbines.

MHI Vestas will take its V164 turbines into the U.S. offshore wind market for the first time as part of the Nautilus Offshore Wind Project near the Atlantic City, New Jersey coast.

Project co-developer EDF Renewables North America selected MHI Vestas Offshore Wind as the preferred supplier for the 25-MW project. The project plans to feature three V164 8.3-MW turbines.

The Nautilus project is being developed by EDF Renewables and Fishermen’s Energy. Pending final approvals, they hope to complete it as soon as 2020.

Nautilus Offshore Wind will be located in state waters and is already fully permitted. The project is currently under review by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities for approval of an offshore renewable energy credit (OREC) agreement.
