TRACKS, THEMES AND HOW-TO SUBMIT SERIES

You still have time to join the POWERGEN International 2024 speaker lineup, as we are extending our Call for Content submission deadline to June 9!

POWERGEN International will be held January 23-25, 2024 in New Orleans, Louisiana. As the show returns to the Bayou State, we are looking for inspiring and thought-provoking industry experts to join our speaker lineup and offer top-quality diversified content.

Don’t miss your chance to share your knowledge and research with your industry peers!

POWERGEN will feature nine conference tracks this year:

  • Decarbonization
  • Optimizing Plant Performance
  • O&M and Performance Issues for Large-Scale Solar and Wind
  • The Smarter Power Plant
  • Unlocking Hydrogen’s Power Potential
  • Energy Storage Deployments
  • Nuclear’s Small Revolution
  • Microgrid Breakthroughs
  • Carbon Capture and Emission Controls

Of note:

We are offering a new track, O&M and Performance Issues for Large-Scale Solar and Wind. The track revolves around the operations and maintenance, project siting, major component health, operational risks, and balance of system issues that impact large-scale wind and solar performance. Please send us your case studies and presentations on the latest and best practices for this topic!

Carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) will have a dedicated track, Carbon Capture and Emission Controls, as CCUS technologies are gaining new momentum and attention as a path toward meeting decarbonization goals.

We are bringing back a microgrid-focused track. Key issues discussed in Microgrid Breakthroughs track include microgrid planning, costs, location, design and operations.

Decarbonization remains a broader track focused on climate goals, legislation, incentives and resource planning strategies for how generators can evolve into cleaner sources.

More on the tracks, with complete descriptions, can be found at the bottom of this page. We have also included four short videos on how to optimize your POWERGEN presentation pitch so it is most likely to be accepted by our advisory committee of experts.

Concurrently, we are accepting submissions for 2-hour, 4-hour or 8-hour (full-day) POWERGEN University courses that would take place the day before the show begins, on Monday, January 22, 2024.

We are interested in and will prioritize broad-brush courses that are aimed at student and adult engineers on the basics of energy storage, small modular reactors and hydrogen for power systems. However, we will also consider other proposals from knowledgeable experts in the power industry.
